We are pleased to announce:
Devon World Championship Invitationals!
Stage 1 – Invitationals Format
✅ There will be 2️⃣ 5 or 6-round Swiss tournaments being held on Saturday 20th July at the following times!
- 5am UTC-04 ET / 10am UK / 6pm Japan (EMEA/Indian-Subcontinent Friendly)
- 4pm UTC-04 ET / 9pm UK / 5am Japan (Sunday) (NA/LATAM Friendly)
✍️ Invited trainers will be allow to choose which tournament they wish to enter, regardless of their geographical location.
How did we pick who got invited?
The top 64 trainers on the Devon Leaderboard will be initially invited to compete, with further invitations sent out to stand-by players based on availability discussions (a.k.a. a waitlist).
What do I do next?
If you are a qualifying trainer, expect DMs on Discord from the Devon Senior Leadership Team! If you are on Discord already, no further action is required besides saving the date and looking for our forthcoming messages. If you are a Tournament Host, and notice some of your competitors that qualify are not here, please have them join the Devon Discord asap. All participants should select the Solo role and then ping a Server Mod.
After the initial stages complete, the top 4 trainers (number subject to adjustment, and referred to as the “Top-Cut”) from each tournament will then be entered into… 🥁 🥁 🥁
🏆 Devon World Championship Finals! 🏆
📺 This will take place on Sunday 28th July, and will be live-streamed and commentated; details and time forthcoming!
Stage 2 – Finals Format
📜 It will be a double-elimination tournament – with best-of-3 battles except the Winners, Losers __and __Grand Finals, which will be a best-of-5!
There will be monetary prizes thanks to generous donations from Devon personnel, including JojoVH, Adelli0n, Cleonardo77, Beckachu25, zioncmnd and others! 🤑
