Worlds 2024 Recap

By zioncmnd

Trainers,

The Worlds Invitational was a three part event, with two invitational qualifiers that fed into a grand championship with the top 8 trainers from both events. The regular season featured over 750 trainers from around the world. The qualifiers were populated with the top 64 from that pool. The qualifier brackets and battle parties are provided below:

From these events, the top 8 trainers were proportionally drawn from each qualifier. This resulted in the following trainers qualifying for the Grand Championship:

Like the qualifiers, this event also leveraged Dracoviz for battle parties and Challonge for the bracket. Unlike the qualifiers, however, the top 8 Grand Championship was double elimination (including potential reset). Additionally, since the Grand Championship was a live-streamed event, moves were posted openly instead of hidden like the regular season. The battle parties shared a lot of commonalities, but also had distinctly different approaches, especially for those core-breaking picks.

After some grueling battles, Rhyblet emerged victorious and was crowned our Devon Series Grand Champion for Season 1. We do also want to recognize all the top 8 competitors as well as a special recognition to Cleonardo77, who was the Regular Season Champion. The Season 1 Rankings are preserved below. Also, for those who missed the first season, we’ve also included an archive page to guide you through what you missed!

We want to thank the entire community, including the trainers, our staff, our content and creation teams, the meta development team, our Refs, and especially the top 8 trainers and Casters below that helped make the World Championship a smashing success.

Regards,
Devon Corporation
